Italian Genealogy

There are many resources available on the Web for those researching their Italian genealogy.  One excellent site is the Italian Genealogy Homepage at http://www.italgen.com/.  Here you will find extensive information to introduce the researcher with Italian ancestors to different record types, details about research strategies for both the U.S. and Italy, an Italian surname database, a message board, lists of civil records repositories (both state and town) in Italy, and links to other Web-based resources for Italian genealogical research.

Don't forget the resources of FamilySearch! The FamilySearch Wiki for excellent reference and instruction about Italy and Italian records. Be sure to use FamilySearch's Italian Civil Registration records in your research too.
